Look … the U.S. press has made it seem as though Al Jazeera, the Qatar-based satellite news network, is full of anti-American propaganda — all the more reason that when I watched it overseas for the first time, its objectivity and unique perspective threw me for a highly positive loop, (however, can’t comment on Al Jazeera Arabic).
There I was in Uganda of all places (don’t recommend it), seeing Israelis and Palestinians having an intelligent discussion, with no talking blowhards or crazies to be heard. That experience made me seek Al Jazeera out whenever overseas, and, of course, to follow it closely online throughout Arab Spring and continuing onward. all the more reason that the big news that Al Jazeera English has finally made it to the U.S. — NYC, Time Warner Cable, Channel 92 — is worth spreading.
Here’s what the press is saying:
HuffPo – Al Jazeera English Launches in New York City
New York Daily News – Al Jazeera English news network finds home on New York cable Channel
Yahoo -Al Jazeera English now available in New York as push for wider U.S. footprint continues
Politico – Al Jazeera English launches in New York
Want a unique perspective. Now you’ve got networks to the right; networks to the left; networks “forward;” networks who swear objectivity; there’s the BBC and … now, Al Jazeera English.
Watch them all and you may get an inkling of the truth. There is absolutely NO reason to be uninformed about anything anymore,
